LaFayette Negro Dies in Ashville.
Harry Appleby, age 39 years, for years associated with his father, W. Green Appleby, in a barber shop in LaFayette, died at his home in Ashville, N.C., Thursday night, November 17th, after an illness of several months.
His remains reached LaFayette Tuesday, November 22nd, and interment was in the *LaFayette Cemetery for colored people. The deceased was for 30 years a resident of LaFayette, and held the friendship and respect of both white and colored people. For the past several years he had lived in Ashville, where he went to regain his health.
His father, W. Green Appleby, was buried here in LaFayette about two years ago. Those surviving him are three brothers, Eugene Appleby, of Shreveport, La.; Harrison Appleby and Thomas Appleby, of Chicago, and one sister, Dorcas Appleby, of Chicago.
