Joyce J. Baertschy, age 89 of Mt. Horeb, WI died on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born February 5, 1925 to Leslie and Hilda (Zwieg) Wheeler in Mayville, WI. She was married to Ralph P. Baertschy in Milwaukee, WI on June 3, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2000.
She was an avid Badger and Packer fan. Her family called her the "human loom" for the many sweaters and afghan she knit for her family. She loved camping in Northern Wisconsin and traveling with her family. She loved cross word puzzles, and playing cribbage and solitaire.
Survivors include her children:
David (Jill) Baertschy of Verona,
Paul (Connie) Baertschy of Janesville,
Mark (Julie) Baertschy of Eagle River,
Jim Baertschy of Mt. Horeb,
Christine (Marty) Frame of Mt. Horeb,
8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren;
sister: Mae Rose Pusch of Mayville,
sister-in-law: Violet Baertschy of Eagle River,
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son: Karl Baertschy, brother-in-law: Donald Baertschy and Howard Pusch.
