Born in Memphis Tenn. He lived in Cranford for 19 years. He was a ramp service employee of Eastern Air Lines at Newark Airport. In the late 1930's and early 1940's David played the Trombone with several nationally known bands. He was a member of the Local 151, American Federation of Musicians Elizabeth and local 802 AFM New York. He also was a member of Newark Local Machinists and Cranford Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Wilma Sattley Tyer and 2 sisters Mrs Charles Boyd and Mrs Sidney Guy, both of Memphis.
