Mrs. Lucy Quackenbush, who lived with her sister Mrs. Susan Bennett about two miles and a half north of Perry village, died September 14th, of a complication of diseases, aged 78 uears. The funeral was held from her late home on Friday. She leaves to mourn one son, Mr. J. Quackenbush of Rochester, one sister, Mrs. S. Bennett and two brothers, Mr. Asabel and Alvin Owen of Castile.


Mr. Delano H. Owen of Dansville was called to Perry Wednesday to attend the funeral of his cousin, Mrs. Lucy Quackenbush.

Alvin Owen.

The sudden death of Alvin Owen, aged 80 years, occurred in his home three miles east of Perry shortly after noon Friday. He was stricken with paralysis several days ago and failed to recover. Mr. Owen was a life long resident of the town of Castile and was born on the Owen farm on November 2, 1834. He had been engaged in farming the greater part of his life. He is the last survivor of a large family of children of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Owen. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ann Hare Owen of Castile. The funeral was held from the late home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. W. Robinson, pastor of the Methodist church of Perry, officiating. Burial was in Hope cemetery.

Leicester, Sept. 10. — After an illness of four, weeks, Mrs. Lucy Ann Quackenbush died Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. S. M. Bennett, in the town of Castile. It is the home farm where she was born August 22 1826. For many years she and her husband lived in Smoky Hollow. They also lived in Pike, where the husband Jacob, died in 1891. Mrs. Quackenbush leaves one son, Jacob, who is a motorman on the street car line in Rochester. Her brothers, Ashbel and Alvin, live in the town of Castile.
