When Marilyn died, she was an Elementary Teacher. Cause of her death was cancer.

Marilyn K. Brown, 60, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Springfield, Ill. A resident for nine years, she was a music teacher at Patricia Bendorf Elementary School.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; one son, Sean Connett of Las Vegas; one daughter, Kysa Vassily of San Francisco; one brother, Donald Theobald of Rockford, Ill.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday in the auditorium at Patricia Bendorf Elementary School. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Patricia Bendorf Elementary School PTA.
