Two Worlds Drive
Mildred L. Arrington, 90, of Two Worlds Drive, died at 8:36 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mildred graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1941. During World War II she worked in the laboratory at Indiana Steel and Wire in Muncie. Upon her husband's return from the war, they moved to Columbus where they owned multiple service stations in the Columbus area. She was a member of First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star and the Elks Club. She was an avid bowler and golfer, making three holes-in-one throughout her life. She also loved playing bridge and going to bingo.
Funeral will be at noon today at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with calling from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Born in Muncie Aug. 12, 1923, Mildred was the daughter of Ernest Hagden and Maude Hagden. She married John A. Arrington Jan. 11, 1942. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1992.
Survivors include a son, Timothy L. Arrington, Columbus, IN; a daughter, Rita S. Davis, Columbus, IN; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John R. Arrington; and brothers, Bernard, Fred, Clarance, Ray, Earl and Ernest Hagden Jr.
