Earl O. Creager, Jr. married Marilyn Grace Roberts in Pecos, Texas on October 24, 1953. He retired after more than 33 years with Chevron.
Mr. Creager was a Mason. He was a member, and Past Master, of Hobbs Lodge 63. Earl was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason at Las Cruces Valley. He was a member and past President of Lea County Shrine Club. He also served as Chairman and Coordinator of the Outreach Program for Children. Mr. Creager's passion was his "kids". He was awarded the Shriner of the Year in 2000 for the State of New Mexico. Mr. Creager served as Grand Sword Bearer for the Grand Lodge of New Mexico.
Mr. Creager is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Hobbs; son Carl Creager of Las Cruces; brother Don Creager of Kermit, Texas; "third son" Bobby Arther of Hobbs; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Creager was preceded in death by father Earl O. Creager, Sr; mother Elsie Creager; sister Doris Sherrell; brothers Royce Creager and Jerry Creager, and son Jon-Wesley Creager.
Visitiation will be held at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home Friday, March 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service, with Masonic honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Chapel of Hope, with Pastor Elio Barrios officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner Children's Hospital, 6600 Zuni, SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, Hobbs, New Mexico and Masonic Lodge 63.
