Ollie Mae Hester Frisbie, 82, of Niota, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at her home. A native of Tellico Plains, and a longtime resident of Niota, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Ida Mae Jack Hester. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Chester R. "Nuke" Chrisman; one sister, Juanita Holder; three brothers, Virgil Hester, Clarence Hester, and Roger Chrisman; a son, Billy Dean Carpenter; and sister-in-law, Catherine Martin. She was a retired seamstress from Crescent Hosiery Mill and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Homer Frisbie of Niota; one daughter, Laura Mae Carpenter of Akron, Ohio; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Freddie Ray Carpenter of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jerry Lewis and Laurie Carpenter of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Dale Ann and Terry White of Athens; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Freddie and Parkie Hester of Athens, Larry Hester of Englewood, Billy Hester of Athens, and Jones Albert Hester of Athens; half-brother, Willard Chrisman of Athens; three sisters-in-law, Alice Ditmore and her husband, Daryl, of Athens, Millie Hall and her husband, Phillip, of Niota, and Linda Jackson and her husband, Glen, of Athens; brother-in-law, Jay Frisbie and his wife, LaNae, of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Hester and the Rev. Keith Wilcox officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Frisbie Cemetery adjoining Union McMinn Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.R. Thompson, Jason Burgess, Randy Hester, Paul McConkey, Brad Hester, and Jr. Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Hester, Brian Frisbie and Jay Frisbie. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Victory Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 236, Niota, TN 37826. Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens has been entrusted with the care of Ollie Mae Hester Frisbie.
