Mary Beth English, 88, passed away on March 20, 2014 in Wichita Falls. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 24, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Chapman officiating. A Private Graveside service will be held prior to the service in Crestview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the church.
Beth was born August 29, 1925 to Hubert and Elizabeth Chowning in Truscott, Texas. She graduated from Truscott High School in 1941 and Texas State College, now TWU in Denton, Texas in 1945. Beth and Lloyd L. (Bill) English were married July 5, 1944 in Frederick, Oklahoma. They celebrated their 69th Wedding anniversary in 2013.
Beth taught school in San Antonio, Texas, San Angelo, Texas and 21 years at Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas. She had been a member of the Beta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teacher's sorority.
Beth had been a member of First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls since 1963 and taught Adult Women for over 50 years in churches where she was a member.
Beth is survived by her husband, Lloyd L. (Bill) English of 69 years; son, Larry P. English and wife Diane of Brentwood, Tennessee, son, Dr. Richard D. English and wife Ana of Longview, Texas; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
