Funeral services for George N. Brown, 81, of 111 Tennessee St., Monroe, were to be at 4 p.m. today at the Hix[s]on Brothers Funeral Home chapel here with the Rev. W. H. Warbington and the Rev. Charles Reed officiating.

Burial was to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Brown died after a long illness at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Pineville Tuesday night.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lula Brown of Monroe; three sons, Roy Brown of Portola, Calif., Allen Brown of West Monroe and George B. Brown of Monroe; eight daughters, Mrs. Martha Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Lynn Lemmons of Hallsville, Tex., Mrs. Ruby Reppond of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Coy Ellen Eubanks of Monroe, Mrs. Edna Haddad of West Monroe, Mrs. Mary Johnson of St. Joseph, Mich., Mrs. Sudie Pratt of Protem, Mo., Mrs. Louise Nelms of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Ola Aarons of West Monroe; and 23 grandchildren.
