Shirley was born June 13, 1925, in Merrill, daughter of the late William and Frieda (Roeming) Fehrmann. Shirley had worked at Semco and Weinbrenner Shoe Company, both in Merrill.
She enjoyed cooking, watching cooking shows, reading cook books, listening to classical music and big band music, and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. Shirley also took great pride in her flower gardens and loved tending to the rose bushes and peonies. Shirley was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Gavett, of Schofield, Kathleen (Ted) Myers, of Minneapolis, Marie Williams, of Mosinee, and Helen (Buck) Hinz, of Merrill; one son, Michael D. (Judy) Fichtner, of Bismarck, North Dakota; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mardell Koehler, of Merrill; and one brother, William Fehrmann, of Merrill. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one sister-in-law, Betty Fehrmann; and one brother-in-law, Earl Koehler.
The Funeral Liturgy was held at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Father Michael McLain presided. Entombment took place in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum, Merrill.
