ALVIE E. DIFFENDERFER, 87, Welty Road, Waynesboro R.D. 4, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John J. Barkanic.
He was born in Waynesboro, son of the late James B. and Ella B. Hammaker Diffenderfer. All of his life had been lived in Waynesboro.
Mr. Diffenderfer was a machinist by trade and had been employed at Landis Tool Company for 50 years.
He was a member of the First EUB Church.
His wife, the late, Mrs. Emma G. Reeves Diffenderfer, died June 21, 1936.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Barkanic and Mrs. Ruth Evanshaw, Rockville, Md.
The funeral will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Grove Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Elwood E. Needy. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday.
