January 1943 graduate of the United States Military Academy. Commission in the infantry. Deployed to the Southwest Pacific. Fought as a platoon leader in the Palau Campaign and as a company commander in the Leyte Campaign in the Philippines. Recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and Commendation Ribbon. Separated from the service in September 1954.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, Harold, III; and parents Harold S and Erna L Walker.
