Patrick Doolin, who had resided on a farm four miles south of Cherry Valley for sixty years, died Monday morning at 7:30 o'clock at his home, after an illness of three weeks of infirmities of age, following a long period of decline.
He was born in County Carlow, Ireland, March 17, 1826, and came to America in his early manhood. He spent seven years draying in New York and then came west and located on the farm where he died. His marriage to Miss Byrne took place in New York in 1853. She predeceased him four years ago.
All of the six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Doolin are living. John, James and Mary Doolin are still at home; Mrs. Anna O'Conner, Mrs. Katherine Madigan and Mrs. Sadie Govern reside in Rockford.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:45 o'clock at the home and at 10 o'clock at St. James Pro-Cathedral, autos being used for the convenience of the funeral party. Interment will be made in the West Side cemetery.
