Mary Ella Crockford, 63, a resident of Lewiston since 1944, died at her home, 412 11th St., early Wednesday morning after a lingering illness.

She was born Aug. 17, 1882, at Ponca, Neb., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Beardshear and moved with them to South Dakota ain 1885, and live di in that state until coming to Lewiston from Hot Springs, S.D.

She was married to Earl Smith at Deadwood, S.D., in March 1903.

She married Arthur E. Crockford at Sturgis, S.D., in June 1908. She was a life member of the Christian Church at Hot Springs.

Survivors other than her husband are seven children, Mrs. ArthurHannant, Rapid City, S.D.; Mrs. Alfred Paulsen, Lewiston; Sam Crockford, Spearfish, S.D.; Mrs. Robert Schofield, Ottumwa, S.D.; Mrs. Joe Davies, Puyallup, Wash.; and Mrs. Frank Kocer, Missoula, Mont., and eight grandchildren.

Two sisters Mrs. Harold Dyer, San Mandro, Claif., and Mrs. Bert Olson, Deadwood, S.D, and a brother, Samuel Beardshear, Spearfish, sD., also survive.
