AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Perry A. Aaronson died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Georgia War Veteran Nursing Home. A memorial service time will be announced later. Remains will be cremated. Mr. Perry, known by everyone as Mr. Perry was a lifelong resident of Augusta. He served in the Navy in World War II, survived Operation Crossroad and served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Perry was involved in anything concerning golf or golf tournaments for most of the past fifty years. He was a member of the Jones Creek Golf Club, Forest Hills Golf Club, U.S. Golf Association, Jones Creek Men's Senior Golf Association, the Founder of the Forest Hills Senior Golf League, and the Georgia Golf Association. Mr. Perry founded the Mr. Perry's Invitational Pro-Am and the Mr. Perry's Invitational Golf Tournament, serving as Chairman for both these events. Mr. Perry was well known and respected in all circles of golf, locally and state-wide and will be remembered for his contributions to the game. He was also an avid animal lover. Survivors include Karin Aaronson, Steve Aaronson, Gary Aaronson, T.C. Aaronson, Chavis Aaronson, Farron Aaronson, Charlotte Phillips, Estelle Carr, and Alice Hamner.
