Allan K. Alwin, age 70, of Janesville, passed away at Rock Haven Nursing home on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, after a long illness. He was born on Jan. 5, 1935, to Louis and Bertha (Tuebert) Alwin. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1954 and married Joan Ludwig on Jan. 14, 1956. He was a member of St. Peters Church and Teamsters Local 579. He worked many years for Alwin Transfer hauling for Sears & Roebuck and retired from Harvey Service (Wauwatosa) in 1986. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He loved hearing all about his grandchildren and their accomplishments in school and sports. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan; 3 children: Steven (Shelley) Alwin of South Beloit, IL, Jill (Mike) Socha of Huntington, IN, and Julie Lilburn of Janesville; 7 grandchildren: Jacob, Jenna Socha, Sarah, Stephen Alwin, Emily, Jamie Lilburn, and Ali Rehfeldt; mother-in-law, Mildred Ludwig; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joan Ludwig of Park Falls, WI; brother-in-law, Leonard Vechinsky of Arizona; sister-in-law, Dorothy Alwin of Janesville; many nieces and nephews; and many friends including good friends: Robert and Nancy Restivo and Richard Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Merle; and 3 sisters: June Vechinsky, Lillian Cahill, and Audrey Morse.
