Lloyd Lee Tyree, 61, a longtime Alaska resident, died Jan. 6 at Humana Hospital Alaska. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Patricks Parish with the Rev. Richard Tero officiating. A visitation preceeded the service.

Mr. Tyree was born in Webster County, W.V., March 14, 1927, and moved to Hope in 1933 with his parents. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and then returned to Alaska. He was foreman of the Motor Pool at Clear Air Force Base and retired in 1978. He was a member of Teamster Local 959, the American Legion, a Boy Scout leader and a former member of the Anderson Lions Club. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Anchorage; his mother, Iris Frederickson, of Sequim, Wash.; his sons, Mike, of Anchorage, and Mark, of Fairbanks; his brother, Leon, and his sister, Kay, both of Sequim, Wash.; and two grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Building Fund of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 2111 Muldoon Road, Anchorage 99504. Burial, with military honors, was in Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Service arrangements were by Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Bragaw Chapel.
