Anthony "Tony" W. Houchin, 41, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. He was born in California on October 29, 1972 to Wayne and Donna Underwood Houchin. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy for over 19 years, as a Fire Controlman. Tony's passions included being a mentor to sailors, University of Kentucky basketball, BBQing, playing the bass, being a husband, father, and most loyal friend to all.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Donna, and Stepfather, Philip Wilders. His loving wife, Julie L. Houchin, his children, Molly and Samuel Houchin. Many shipmates and "brothers/sisters" of the CPO mess.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 4pm at Naval Station Norfolk Chapel, 1630 Morris Street, Norfolk, VA 23511. The family will be receiving friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home tonight from 6 – 8 pm. Burial will take place at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
