James B. Gunsallus, one of the oldest and best known men of Boggs township died (October 19, 1906) at the home of Mrs. Mary McGinley just north of Milesburg. His death was the result of diseases incident to old age as he had been confined to his bed ever since last February. He was 69 years of age. Always a hard working, honest and upright man, he had the esteem and confidence of all who knew him. His wife died a number of years ago, but surviving him are the following children: Mrs. Thomas Carson, of Tyrone; Richard, of Bellefonte; Harry, of Warriors Mark; Frank and Abram, of Laurelton; Robert, of Johnstown; Mrs. Harry McGinley and Charles, of Bellefonte and William, of Canton, OH. The remains were taken to Tyrone on Monday afternoon where funeral services were held and interment made.[Democratic Watchman, Bellefonte, PA on Friday, 10/26/1906]
