After Mary's death, he wed Sena M. (Cragan) Smith on September 3, 1905 in Hancock County. Sena passed away January 21, 1906. His third wife was Lucia Jennie Wiggins, whom he married on October 3, 1906 in Hancock County. Lucia Jennie passed away January 26, 1909 and is buried next to her parents in Park Cemetery. John then moved to the Greenville, Ohio area and married Mabel Luella (Lindamood) Smith on September 14, 1909.

John W. Jackson, 81, former manager of the furniture department in the old Mozart department store, Greenville, died at 6:15 Sunday, at his home at 501 Harrison Avenue, after a long illness. A native of Wilkinson, Ind., he had lived in Greenville for the last 21 years.
He was a member of both the K. of P. lodge and the United Brethren church at Wilkinson.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel; one son, Elmer, of Arkansas; five daughters, Mrs. Barton Rees Pogue, of Upland; Mrs. John Price, of Wilkinson; Mrs. Ward Julian, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Roscoe McClarnon, of Charlottesville, Ind., and Mrs. Vint Keesling, of Anderson, Ind., and one step-son, Robert H. Smith, of Fort Jefferson, Ohio. There are also 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
