Born on July 23, 1922 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Madeline Snyder Robinson and the late George Holmes Robinson. Mrs. Stone was raised in Anacostia and graduated from Anacostia High School. She worked as a Payroll Supervisor for the Department of the Navy with 40 years of service. She was a member and Past President of the La Plata Lioness Club and a member of the Daughters of the King through the Episcopal Church at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Anacostia. She was a long time resident of Charles County and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late John B. "Jack" Stone and one brother.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Beth Reckeweg and her husband Richard of La Plata, MD, Lynda Anne Williamson of Great Mills, MD, Kathleen C. Dolder and her husband Peter of Rolling Rock, NC, Susan Marie Wiggins and her husband Mark of Gulf Shores, AL; her son William Peter Stone of California, MD; her 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD 20646.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 beginning at 10AM at the La Plata United Methodist Church 3 Port Tobacco Road La Plata, MD 20646 with Reverend Bruce Jones officiating.
Interment to follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery in La Plata. Pallbearers are John Reckeweg, James Byram, Eric Dolder, Jason Dolder, Dave Bayles and Greg Bast.
