Wendel Frederick Grenzow, 78, of Janesville, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at his home. Wendel was born in Monroe, WI, on June 16, 1927, the son of George and Sylvia (Trumpy) Grenzow. He graduated from Juda High School and attended the Army Radio and Electronics School, U.S. Army Signal Corps School, and vocational school at Monroe. Wendel served with the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He married Jeanette Ladwig on Aug. 14, 1955, at Immanuel E.U.B. Church in Monroe. Wendel farmed at Juda, WI, was later employed as an electronics technician at Gibbs Manufacturing, and retired from Sintered Specialties as a technician. Wendel was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and was a member of the Folks for Food and Fellowship group. He had been a 4-H leader and was a retired senior volunteer for many years. Mr. Grenzow is survived by his wife, Jeanette Ladwig Grenzow; his children: Steven (Rev. Ken Ehrke) Grenzow of Arlington, TX, Elaine (Thomas Betthauser) Grenzow of New Glarus, WI, and Faith (Richard Young) Grenzow of River Falls, WI; a grandson, Alexander Betthauser; stepgranddaughters, Erin (David) Jones and Casie (Patrick) McNamer; a stepgreat-grandchild, Kaitlyn McNamer; a brother, Earl (Georgia) Grenzow of Juda, WI; 2 sisters, Mary Ann (Robert) Schou of Rockford, IL, and Grace (Philip) Harter of Rockford, IL; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hughes of Watertown, WI, and Grace (Eben) Robertson of Monroe, WI; nieces and nephews. Wendel was preceded in death by his parents.
