Ricky Lamont Brooks Oct. 2, 1960 - Feb. 12, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Ricky Lamont Brooks, 53, of Mishawaka, died February 12, 2014. He was born October 2, 1960, to the late Jerry and Harriet Jean Brooks. He is survived by a daughter, Nina Brooks, brother, Jerry, and two sisters, Vicki Brooks Beach and Maria Brooks, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Ricky also leaves behind his longtime friend and business associate, Yvonne Alderson. Ricky attended school in Nashville, TN, and entered the United States Marine Corps in 1980 and was honorable discharged. He worked at various jobs and was formerly a salesman for Gurley Leep in Mishawaka and River Oaks Olds in IL. He started his own auto brokerage business and later a credit repair service company. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home Southwest Chapel, 23421 St. Rd 23. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Miller's Vets Garden of Peace at Portage Manor, 3016 Portage Ave. Friends may visit one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
