Military Census March 28, 1917- He lived at 75 Hemingway Ave East Haven. Trade-Clerk, age 22, 6ft, 1", 185lb, single, good swimmer, could not ride a horse or drive a team or drive an automobile or motorcycle.

Harry Bartlett was the first person from East Haven, CT to be killed in action during World War I.
Killed by a bomb in Apremont, France. ID #12985.

Harry's mother Minnie filled out a questionnaire for Conn participation in the World War, Military Service Record compiled by the Dept of War Records Ct State Library, where it will be filed as a permanent memorial of the deeds of Ct state soldiers, sailors, and marines in the service of the Federal, State and Allied governments during the American participation in the World War.
Harry's mother included this picture with the questionaire.
