Funeral services for Kathleen Adkins, 80, of Sherman and formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, TX. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.
Kathleen Grace Franklin was born April 4, 1933, in Tyronza, Arkansas to Harvie Lee and Ida Webb Franklin. She married Ronnie Adkins in 1974, and they made their home in Tyler. Kathy has lived in Sherman since 2007.
Kathy loved gardening, quilting, playing games and most of all, spending time with her family.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Harvie and Ida Franklin; husbands, Earl Barrier and Ronnie Adkins; sisters, Irene Barrier, Maxine Franklin and Pauline Harvel; an unnamed baby sister; and brothers, Jessie Franklin, Eugene Franklin, Mack Franklin, Webb Franklin, Larry Franklin and Charles Franklin.
She is survived by children, Earl Barrier, Jr, and wife, Pat of Houston, Bonnie Gant and Jerry Lathem of Garland, Buster Barrier and wife, Vicki of Mesquite, Patty Dunlap and husband, Roger of Greenville, PA, Frances Beisert and Michael Helms of Carrollton, and Theresa Moore and husband, Mark of Tom Bean; brothers, HL Franklin and wife, June of Dallas, and Joel Franklin and wife, Alice of Mabank; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren
