Carthage, Mo., June 20 - Mrs. Rachel Elizabeth Reese, 70 years old, a resident of Jasper county fifty-seven years, died at 9:45 o'clock last night at her home on Reeds route 3.
She was born July 3, 1857, at Bedford, Ia., and was married January 1, 1875, at Ritchie, Mo., to Boyd E. Reese, who survives her. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist. She went to Parshley, southeast of Carthage, in 1871.
Surviving besides the husband are seven children: Lewis Earl Reese of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Lula Pearl Hood of Attica, Kan., John Hiram Reese of Reeds route 3, Mrs. Ottis Adelaide Scott of Livingston, South Africa, Archie Elmore Reese of Diamond route 1, Frank Pleasant Reese of Diamond and Alva Boyd Reese of Reeds. Two brothers, Henry Kinney of Sarcoxie and Sam Kinney of Yale, Okla., and a sister Mrs. Emma Cole of Harper, Kan., also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Center Point church, southeast of Carthage. Burial will be in Center Point cemetery. Other plans are incomplete.

Reese Funeral Held.
Carthage, Mo., June 22. - Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Elizabeth Reese, who died Tuesday at her home near Reeds, were held yesterday afternoon at the Center church. The Rev. Loren Dobbs of Reeds, assisted by the Rev. T. L. Gray of Kansas City, officiated. Pallbearers were A. A. Grieb, J. T. Smith, Fred Carver, B. B. Holmes, J. C. Morgan and J. A. Stephen. Burial was in Center cemetery.
