Mr. Flaud Mims Salter, age 82, passed away Thursday in the hospital in Madison after a long illness. He was a native of Georgia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Salter. He was a graduate of Sparks Institute at Sparks, GA, a former Methodist Minister in the South Georgia Conference and a Mason. From 1946-50 he was an Agricultural Instructor for the Veterans Administration. He held the position ad Farm Bureau Insurance Representative in Madison, Hamilton and Suwannee Counties until his retirement in 1958. He was a member of the Madison Methodist Church where he also was a member of the McDonald Bible Class.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Genta Salter of Madison; two daughters, Mrs. Maurine Dugger of Atlanta, GA; and Mrs. F. C. Vernon of Jacksonville; 3 sons, Charles E. Salter of Tallahassee; J. P. Salter of Valdosta, GA; and N. H. Salter of Newland, NC; 11 grandchildren; 3 step-sons, Buford Clayton of Madison; Donald Clayton of Plant City; and Gerald Clayton of Fresno, CA; one step-daughter, Mrs. Myrtle E. Chesson of Largo, FL; one nephew, James Salter of Columbus, GA; and one niece, Mrs. Frances Hatcher of Albany, GA. Funeral services were Friday January 8, 1971 at Beggs Funeral Home with internment in Hill Crest Cemetery at Sylvester, GA. Madison Enterprise Recorder, Madison, FL
