IRVONA - Mrs. Rosy M. Johnston, 85, of Irvona, died Friday in the Overlook Hospital, Summit, N.J. She was the widow of Arthur Johnston who died Sept. 2, 1966.
Mrs. Johnston was born in Ansonville, Jan. 29, 1883, a daughter of Mites arid Belle (Rea) Bloom. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a 70-year member of the Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church. She also belonged to the Coalport Chapter 427 of the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving Mrs. Johnston are: two daughters, Mrs. William (Blanche) Shaffer, Summit, N.J.; and Mrs. J. Fred (Ruth) Easton, Wellsyille, N.Y.; son Ronald Johnston, Irvona; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; and a brother, Russell Bloom, Curwensville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William H. Olson officiating. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wendell W. Lloyd Funeral Home Monday from 2 to 10 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from noon until time of services.
In lieu of flowers it is suggested that contributions be made to the Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church.
