Harold “Joe” Sager, age 85, of Clinton, WI, died on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Coleman, WI on May 3, 1920, the son of John Edward and Henrietta (VanVonderon) Sager. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII, in the Pacific Theatre. Harold married Alice Rooney on July 1, 1943, in Madison, WI and she preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 2001. He had been employed by Gisholt and later Giddings and Lewis, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a former member of the Noon Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Joan (James) Watson of Neenah, WI; son, David (Ping) Sager of Portland, OR; 2 grandchildren, Jenny and Kelly Sager of Portland; and 2 brothers, George (Nancy) Sager of Green Bay, WI and Paul Sager of Coleman, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Russell Sager; and 4 sisters: Beatrice Smits, Lenore Mac Pherson, Ruth Rock and Lou Sager.
