Mary was the daughter of Jeremiah Miles of Luthersburg, PA. Her father Jeremiah built the first steam grist mill 2 miles from Helvetia, PA (Near DuBois, PA). Her grandfather James Miles built the first road from Milesburg, PA to Erie, PA. It was ten feet wide. The Toll Gate was a large Tree. He was killed by Indians (Source: "The George T.
