Margaret B. (Mears) McCarthy was the daughter of John Blair Mears and Mary Louisa (Baxter).

She married Samuel L. Isbell (attorney) on April 25, 1892, St. Louis, Mo.

They had 3 daughters: Margarette, Laura (Nichols) and Marie (McGee) Isbell

They divorced by 1910 and she remarried to Dr. James T. McCarthy. She became a practicing Optometrist and had a thriving business in Omaha, Nebraska for 30 plus years.
