Alice is one of seven children. Their order of birth was; Eleanor Hedvig Rasmussen (1892), Marie Rasmussen (1894), Minnie Rasmina Rasmussen (1895), Robert Howard Rasmussen (1897), Margaret Anne Rasmussen (1904),Edna Mae Rasmussen (1907),and Alice Lillian Rasmussen (1912), There was one other sister, Clara Rasmussen, who died at 10 months old from cholera infantum.
The winters were difficult and on doctors orders he felt a warmer climate would be easier on Alice's father, Andreas. Therefore, in 1913, Alice's parents moved, with all the children, to Gardena California. There they would have a dairy farm.
In 1930, Alice would work as a typist for a dry cleaners.
Later, she would marry Leo Arnold Welsh. For a time they resided in Gardena, California then later moved to Escondido in San Diego County.
Alice passed away in 1997 at the age of 84. Her husband preceded her in death in 1985 at the age of 74 years.
