William H. Hammett was born in Mounds, Il. on May 24,1921.He was the second of four children, born to Beulah B. Davenport & Raymond R. Hammett.

Friends & family called him by the childhood nickname of Billy.

At an early age, the family moved to Wickliffe, Kentucky, where he met & married Shirley H. Raynor. They were married for 50 years & had one daughter, Betty.

On Dec. 8, 1942 Billy enlisted in the United States Army & spent time in the Philippines. After being discharged, he worked for the railroad & Sippi Products.

In 1957 he moved his family to Chicago, Il. where Billy was employed as an Ironworker. In 1979 he suffered a heart attack & retired back to his home in Kentucky.

He passed away on April 2, 1989, at the age of 68.

He will forever be loved & missed by his family & friends.
