Clinton Arvis Abbott, 83, of 125 Saylor Road, Crab Orchard, died Saturday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. Born December 2, 1913, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late John Washington and Cora Larkin Abbott,. He was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel Margaret Scott Abbott, and a daughter, Anna Mae Black. Survivors include his wife, Chesnie Saylor Abbott; a daughter, Geneva Ruth Sandlin of Berea; a brother, Shelva Abbott of Highland Heights; two sisters, Marie Smith and Velma Acton, both of Eubank; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Pulaski County. Pallbearers will be Doug Sandlin, Michael Sandlin, Shawn Clayton, Lawrence Hacker, Wayne Black and Ronnie Hacker. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today. Sunday, April 20, 1997.
