Her father, John Phillip "J.P. or Johnnie" Fielder, was 29, and her mother, Nancy Ann Headrick Fielder, was 22. Including Hazel, they had 4 known children together: Harry Lyle, Lola Lucille, Hazel Beatrice and Lloyd Douglas ~
Hazel married Eugene Walter Hieber on June 28, 1937, in Los Angeles, California. The marriage ended a few years later. They would both remarry at a later time ~
Hazel would marry Joseph O "Joe" or "J O" Cone in 1945 in California. J O was in the United States Navy at that time. They lived in South Gate, California, when they were married. J O left the Navy in late 1946, having completed 6 years of service. The 1950 Census records indicate that they had moved to Chicago, Illinois. for a short time, where Hazel worked as a Bookkeeper. Residential Records show they returned to California in 1951 ~
After leaving the Navy, J O continued to work as an independent who's contract was with the U.S. Military. He and Hazel were blessed to be able to live in many new places, moving to a new adventure every couple of years, while working independently with the Military. Some of the places they lived over the years were: Van Buren & Fort Smith, Arkansas, 29 Palms, California, Spenard and Juneau, Alaska, and many others ~
Hazel passed away on August 20, 1983, in Klamath, California, at the age of 66. It is unclear as to why she was in Klamath, CA, at that time, but it is known that she had been very ill and may have been there for treatment. Hazel was laid to rest in Glendale, California, where a great many of her family is also laid to rest ~
Hazel was my aunt on my father's side. I was so fortunate to spend many wonderful summers with her and my uncle, J O. I still miss them both very much ~
