Varnville - Mrs Mattie Barnes Hoover, 78, died in a Columbia hospital early Sunday morning after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Nixville Baptist Church at 2:30 Monday afternon by the Rev Frank Ling. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Friends may call at the home of her niece, Mrs Earnestine Brinson, here.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Mrs Lula Hoover Long of Jacksonville, Mrs Lillie Hoover Griner of Estill and Miss Mattie Hoover of Varnville; one stepson, Cris Hoover of Ellabelle, Ga, and three sisters, Mrs Amanda Barnes Crapse of Hampton, Mrs Etta Barnes Phillips of West Columbia and Mrs Annie Barnes Adams of Varnville.
