Alice Burns Easton 98. Wife of the late Charles Burns, died Tuesday 5-13-2003 at a Presque Isle nursing facility where she received loving care and kind attention to her special needs since being admitted in June 1998. She was born 7-5-1904 in St.George, NB., Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie (Bothwick) Meating. After her fourth year, she was raised by John Little, who married her widowed mother, and then eventually moved to Portland, where she married Charles Burns in 1927. They had 2 daughters, Elizabeth Koskinen, recently of Waltham, MA., who passed away of 11-21-2002 and Dorothy Beaton of Easton. Alice retired in Salem, MA. having worked for the city of Salems Library system in her later years. She and Charles moved to West Palm Beach, FLA., to spend 22 years in the sun, returning to Maine to live with Dorothy and her husband in May of 1991 and remained fairly active until her admission into the nursing home. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren who admired her longevity. She dearly loved listening to music, especially hymns and had a beautiful singing voice. Alice is survived by her daughter, Dorothy and her husband Duncan Beaton of Easton, her son in law, Gunner Koskinen of Waltham, MA., 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Kurt Koskinen and his wife Michelle of Queensbury, NY., Douglas Koskinen of Lowell, MA., Charles Beaton and his wife Lauren of Easton and their children, C.J. and Holly, Mark Beaton of Easton of Easton and his children, Mark of North Carolina, Matthew and Nathan both of Easton, Debra Beaton Guiod and her husband Timothy of Houlton and their children, Zachary and Gabriella , Dawn Beaton Quelle and her husband, Frederick of Coralville, Iowa and their children, Kathryn and Benjamin and Paul Beaton of ALbuquerque, NM. Burial Estes Park cemetery.
