Funeral for J C Barnhill, city clerk of Yukon for 28 years, will be Thursday at 3 pm at the First Christian Church here under the direction of Turner Funeral Home. Barnhill, 77, died Monday night in his home here following a heart attack. A resident of Oklahoma since 1909, he came here from Indiana where he was born Jan 6, 1876.

Barnhill previously served as deputy treasurer of Canadian county for three terms and came to Yukon in 1917. He served as a cashier in the Yukon National Bank before being elected city clerk. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Board of Deacons for 36 years. He had been an Elder of the church for 2 years. He also was a life member of Yukon Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Warren P Barnhill, 4401 Georgia St; and Spencer E Barnhill, 4009 NW 12, both of OKC; a sister, Mrs Bruce Harris, Lakeland, FL; and three grandchildren.
