Walter is preceded in death by parents, Walter Joseph Schertz and Alma Ida Wuest Schertz; sisters, Frances Classen, and Helen Rowell; brother, Alvin Schertz and nephew, Bob Rowell.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Mae; nephews, Harold Classen and wife, Jeannie, Lawrence Classen and wife, Pat, Fred Rowell and wife, May and niece, Kathryn Rowell.
Visitation will be at Schertz Funeral Home from 5:00PM – 9:00PM on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Funeral Services will be at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:30AM. Interment will be private.
