DEATH TODAY
_____
Edgar W. Longshore, aged 26, one of the best known and most popular young men of the city died at 3 p.m. today at the home of his father, George W. Longshore, corner of Seventh and Winters avenue of tumor of the brain.

The death followed an illness of many months during the greater part of which time he had been confined to his bed and occurred in the presence of all of his family who were aware several week ago that the end was but a question of time, as his physicians had long since given up his case as hopeless.

A year or so ago the deceased was taken to the far east for an operation by eminent specialists; but his case was judged incurable. On his return he was again taken ill, and from that time on he had grown worse until the end came this afternoon.

The late Mr. Longshore has been a resident of the Grand valley for over fifteen years and probably no other man in the city has a wider circle of acquaintances or as large a roster of friends than he, whose career of honesty, uprightness and love terminated at three o'clock this afternoon.

Mr. Longshore until taken sick occupied the position of engineer at the Mesa Flour Mills and also in season at the beet sugar factory and made his residence with his family on South Seventh street. He was unmarried and was one of the leaders of the younger society circles of the city. He was a person of attractive appearance and has a fascinating personality making him popular with all whom he came in contact and esteemed and well liked by all whom he met in a business way.

In the untimely death of the promising young man his loss is created which will indeed be hard to overcome and the entire city extends it's sympathy to the grief stricken family.

Edgar W. Longshore was born in Fort Scott, Kansas, in 1884 and moved to this city with his parents about fifteen years ago. He has served at various vocations during his residence here and had been recently acquired a fruit ranch which he was improving at the time he was taken sick. As far as is known he is not a member of any secret organization or societies but was a sincere Christian and a man of estimable character and habits.

His body is being prepared for burial by Undertaker F. A. Krohn and the funeral will be held from the home of the parents Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock.
