Alfred W. Anderson, 95, husband of the late Helen D. (Irvine) Anderson, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Lutheran Community At Telford. He was a former resident of Schwenksville.

Mr. Anderson was born on May 17, 1918, in Brooklyn, NY, and was a son of the late Alfred and Lydia (Stoecker) Anderson. He served as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class, in the US Navy Seabees, during World War Two.

Mr. Anderson retired in 1973 from the Wildman Jacquard Co., Norristown and Reading, where he was a sales engineer for over 25 years.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and was a financial secretary. He also was a member of Roy S. Leidy Post #203, American Legion, Schwenksville.

Mr. Anderson was survived by his daughter, Carol L. Witherwax, Towamencin Twp.; his grandson, Robert C. Dickerson, Jr., husband of Nicole (Gordon) Dickerson; his great-grandchildren, Haileigh, Hayden, Lydia Dickerson; and his sisters, Esther Shenk, Lititz, and Lois, wife of the Rev. Paul Neal, Worthington, KY.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial was in Schwenksville Cemetery.
