Clyde was born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Verlie and Clyde Emerson Majors. On July 31, 1947, he married Dora Belle Ellis of Yuma, Arizona. They had 58 wonderful years of marriage.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii. Over the years, he learned and spoke seven different languages and enjoyed getting to speak them when he could, with others.
He was a member of both Brownwood #116 and Comanche #310, OES; three Masonic lodges, Past Master of two of them; three chapters; three councils; three commandries (Past "head head" of all these), the Scottish Rite, and several others. He had earned a Doctor's degree in Theology. He was Chaplain and District Deputy of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He retired after 13 years as a professor of Theology and Philosophy at Howard Payne University. After his retirement, he became pastor of two churches that he loved and lived for, Trickham Union Church and First Christian Church at Santa Anna, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Belle Majors of Brownwood; his son, Joseph B. Majors and fiancee, Marilyn Wood of Brownwood; and his daughter Melinda Stock and husband, Wayne of Taylor, Tx; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Nancy Majors of Cypress; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
