Ruby Bell Bradshaw, 81, of Central Point, died Tuesday (June 13, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Arrangements will be announced by Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
Bio: Ruby Bradshaw as a native of Klamath Falls, OR. She attended elementary and secondary schools in Klamath Falls and Klamath County. She was a graduate of Southern Oregon College, known then as Ashland Normal School. Her first year teaching was at Newhope in Josephine Co. The school had two rooms and housed grades 6,7, and 8. She returned to Klamath County and taught 3rd grade at Bonanza for 5 years. She was married and left the teaching profession to raise her family of four boys and one girl. During the time she was raising her family, they moved to Northern California. She attended Chico State College and Shasta College. She went back to full time teaching in Weaverville, California in grades 3 and 4. In 1961 she moved back to Oregon, moved specifically Central Point. At this time, she began teaching 1st grade at Jewett. She has also taught at Richardson and is presently teaching 1st grade at Central Point Elementary. Mrs. Bradshaw is known for her quiet, sincere approach to teaching. Her warmth and concern has touched the hearts of many students and parents over the years.
