She was born on Oct. 27, 1929, in Janesville, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Bienash Mooney. Mary attended grade school at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Janesville and graduated from Mercy High School in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Richard J. Carney on May 13, 1950, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Janesville. Mary worked as a supervisor as DNS Corporation, Madison, for more than 10 years prior to retiring. She is survived by her children: Kathleen Mullikin (Thomas Skaar) of Madison, Joseph of Madison, Susan (Oliver) Oldham of Richardson, TX, Nancy (Darryl) Bergh of St. Paul, MN, and Thomas of Madison; 3 fine grandchildren: Nicholas Mullikin of Salt Lake City, UT, Erin Mullikin of Las Vegas, NV, and Zachery Oldham of Richardson, TX; a beloved brother, Peter J. Mooney of Edgerton; 2 special cousins, Delores Deutscher and Genevieve Slayton; close friend, Gertrude Foley; nieces and nephews, including special nephew, John (Sheila) Carney. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; grandson, Shawn; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Shafer Mooney.
