"MISS LUCY ABBOT DIES.
Woman, 84, Had Long Record in Federal Service.
Miss Lucy E. Abbot, 84 years old, an employe[e] of the United States Government here for many years and a resident of this city for more than a half century, died at her residence, in the Portner Apartments Saturday. Funeral Services were conducted at St. James Episcopal Church, Eigth street between B and C streets northeast, today at 10 o'clock. Dr. George W. Atkinson, rector, officiated. Interment was in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Miss Abbot was a native of Zanesville, Ohio, where she lived before coming to Washington. She had long been a member of St. James' Church and taught Sunday school there many years ago. Her first appointment with the Government was in the early seventies, when she was given a position in the United States Patent Office. She was retired after long service.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. William Martin of this city, and a brother, Horace Abbot."

Lucy is buried next to her Mother and sister, Mary C. Martin, in a unmarked grave.
