RUTH ANN BROWN, age 82, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at home. Services were held Friday, April 30, 1999, at First Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Southerland officiating. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Mike Brown, Mike Parks, Randall Scott, Jerry Budowsky, Jim Grantham and Travis Bryant. Honorary pallbearers were Wes Padgett, Roy Gildon, Craig Brenneis, J.W. Hines, Kent Sullivan, Dwight Duncan, Jerry Bob English, Francis Reed and Les Bolensky.

Ms. Brown was born March 23, 1915, in Duncan, Okla. She worked at Public Service and Montgomery Ward, retiring in 1950 to become a full-time homemaker.

She married Fred H. "Choc" Brown on September 15, 1945, in Duncan, Okla., who preceded her in death on May 3, 1982.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul "Shorty" and D'Ann Brown of Duncan; two sisters, Marguerite English and Bonnie Davidson, both of Duncan; one sister-in-law, Alma Gore of Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Quentin D. Gibbons, and a sister, Jean Levy.

Ruth Ann Brown, 81, a lifelong resident of Duncan, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in her home.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church in Duncan with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brown was born March 23, 1915, in Duncan to Fred and Roxie Jones Gibbons. She married Fred H. "Choc" Brown on Sept. 15, 1945, in Duncan. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1982.

She was a homemaker and worked in the public service for Montgomery Ward prior to her retirement in 1950. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Duncan.

Survivors included a son and daughter-in-law, Paul "Short" and D'Ann Brown of Duncan; three grandchildren, Joe Kidd and his wife Heather, Ben Brown & Korie Brown; a great-grandchild, Sydney Kidd; two sisters, Marguerite English and Bonnie Davidson, both of Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Quentin D. Gibbons; and a sister, Jean Levy.

Bearers will be Mike Brown, Mike Parks, Randall Scott, Jerry Budowsky, Jim Grantham, and Travis Bryant.
