John O. Baker, 93, Quincy, Mich., died Sunday morning at the Ford Hospital in Detroit.
A native of Marco, Ind., Mr. Baker owned and operated a department store here on the north side of the square during the 1920's. He had lived in Michigan for 38 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma Pearcy Baker; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Martha) Clement, Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Julia Murphy, Detroit; three sons, Lester, Marionette, Wisc., and Orville and Cecil both of Detroit; a step-son, Milton Pearcy, 1405 E. 2nd; a step-daughter, Mrs. Damon (Gladys) Lindley, Birmingham, Mich., and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Baker's first wife, Vida Stipp Baker, died in 1945.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Day Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Hittle officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after 7:30 p.m. today.
