Clarence Wilbur Grogg, 86, of 948 W. Beverly St., died Friday evening (Sept. 19, 1980) at Liberty House Nursing Home, Waynesboro.
He was born March 15, 1894, in Pendleton County, W. Va., son of Dave and Rebecca (Arbogast) Grogg.
He attended Salvation Army Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Leona M. Grogg of Staunton; seven daughters, Mary Hise of Fishersville, Fannie Campbell of Swoope, Beulah Hise and Rosie Lee Davis, both of Staunton, Katherine Sledge of Verona, Anna May Lay of Arrow, Okla., and Nona Wilfong of Bluegrass; five sons, Roscoe V. of Columbus, Ga., Jessie Lee of Elba, Ala., Clarence Jr. of Phoenix City, Ala., David of Broadway and Roy William Grogg of Staunton; one half brother, Russell Arbogast of Harman, W. Va.; two step-brothers, Eberry of Davis, W. Va., and Cleve Arbogast of Vanderpool; two-step sons, Jimmy Floyd and Robert Cooper, both of Harman, W. Va.; two half sisters, Mrs. Sadie Mick of Richmond and Ginny Grogg; 37 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by Brother L. Rodger Powell, with burial in the Mick Family Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Tha family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in McDowell and at other times at the Rosie Davis residence at 403 Hays Ave., Staunton.
