FREER, Texas - Benita S. Acosta, 78, passed away on December 20, 2005 in an Alice hospital. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria M. Saavedra; one sister, Virginia Moreno; and two brothers, Manuel and Leopoldo Saavedra.
Survivors include two daughters, Norilda (Rogelio) Villarreal of Freer, Texas, and Norma (Antonio) Chapa Premont, Texas; two brothers, Pedro Saavedra Jr. and Jose Saavedra of Mission, Texas; two sisters, Jovita De La Cruz of Alice, Texas, and Lucy Ambriz of Poteet, Texas; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church and burial will follow at the Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.
